The original images are retained and replaced with an optimised equivalent to reduce file sizes for a faster, more efficient workflow. This can signifcantly speed up tasks such as opening, moving, copying, exporting, previewing and printing files, especially when working remotely.
The tools use Adobe’s professional downsampling techniques and colour settings to ensure high resolution image quality is maintained for print output.
Once the slimmed copies have been made, you can swap back to the originals, either on a case-by-case basis (Swap selected images), or across the whole document (Swap all images back to originals).
The Slimage Tools Slim selected images and Slim all images in document will optimize images in the InDesign document to a resolution of 350 pixels per inch with Photoshop layers merged into a single combined layer.
